About

Professional Profile

I am an art consultant and gallerist with nearly 17 years of experience working across galleries, hospitality, corporate, and private art contexts. My work sits at the intersection of curation, cultural advisory, and project delivery — guiding artworks from concept to placement, and helping people connect meaningfully with art.

Today, I work closely with artists, collectors, corporations, and brands. I support artists by acting as a trusted intermediary — ensuring artworks are presented, sold, transported, and installed with care, integrity, and fair market value. For collectors and organisations, I provide art advisory services that are thoughtful, practical, and aligned with the identity of each space.

Experience & Track Record

I began my career in the art world in 2009 and have since worked across a wide range of projects, from gallery exhibitions to large-scale corporate and hospitality environments.

My past clients and collaborators include Soho House Hong Kong, AIA Hong Kong, Sun Hung Kai Properties, Crystal International Group, Cartier, Clifford Chance, and various private residential clients. I have also worked on standalone exhibitions with internationally recognised designers and artists.

What distinguishes my experience is not only its length, but its depth. Years spent operating and running a physical gallery trained me to understand both artists and collectors — their intentions, constraints, and expectations — and to bridge those perspectives with clarity and respect. I am experienced in working closely with interior designers and architects, ensuring artworks are integrated seamlessly into spaces, delivered on time, and within budget.

Trust, Standards, and Working Ethos

Much of my work comes through referrals — from artists, clients, and collaborators — which I regard as the strongest measure of trust.

I am particularly rigorous about artist relationships, authenticity, installation quality, and professional conduct. I believe that when artists are respected and projects are delivered properly, all other aspects of a project naturally fall into place.

My working standards are simple and uncompromising: honesty, professionalism, and efficiency.

Curatorial Philosophy

Craftsmanship and storytelling are central to my curatorial approach.

When advising on artworks — especially for corporate or public-facing spaces — I value aesthetic clarity and elegance, ensuring works are welcoming and able to live well within their environment. At the same time, I believe meaningful art adds depth to a space, offering reflection, emotional resonance, and lasting relevance beyond decoration.

I am drawn to artists with stories to tell — whether rooted in personal experience, emotion, or cultural context — and I enjoy helping those stories reach the right audience. The name The Picturesque reflects this philosophy: art as a visual and emotional scene that speaks directly to what people carry in their minds and hearts.

From Physical Gallery to Online Platform

After more than 15 years operating within the traditional gallery model, I chose to close my physical space and transition online.

The decision was strategic and forward-looking. Rising operational costs, shifting audience behaviour, and changes in how people discover and engage with art made it clear that a new model was needed. Moving online allows me to allocate more resources directly to artists, create high-quality content, and communicate more effectively with collectors — while offering artists a fairer return and broader visibility.

This platform represents an evolved approach to gallery practice: one that is flexible, sustainable, and aligned with how people experience art today.

Why This Platform Exists

This online portfolio and shop are designed to build confidence and transparency for collectors.

By sharing real project documentation, site photos, and curated selections, visitors can clearly understand the scope and quality of work I deliver — from private residences to corporate environments, exhibitions, events, and guided art tours. The aim is to make collecting art online feel informed, safe, and rewarding.

Behind-the-scenes insights, written content, and future interviews with artists will further open up the process, offering a clearer view of how projects are conceived and realised.

Who I Work With

I work with:

  • First-time and seasoned collectors
  • Interior designers and architects
  • Corporate, hospitality, and brand clients
  • Artists seeking thoughtful representation and long-term development

My role is that of a curator, advisor, and guide — professional yet personal — accompanying clients through their art journey with care, integrity, and clarity.

Long-Term Vision

I am committed to supporting artists who deserve to be seen, understood, and collected — and to connecting their work with the right people, in the right spaces, at the right time.

My hope is that those who encounter art through this platform not only discover works they love, but continue to live with them meaningfully for years to come.
